The CIESG – ESG Information Committee – was constituted on March 23rd, 2022, formed by financial and sustainability reporting preparers and researchers. The committee aims to bridge the gap between academia and practice regarding the development of research topics concerning the preparation and analysis of sustainability information released by companies and government entities. It also aims to contribute to developing norms and standards to be met by public companies in collaboration with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) from IFRS Foundation and other regulators and accounting and sustainability standard-setters.
The ISSB creation by the IFRS Foundation and endorsed by the G20 and the IOSCO on behalf of the world's securities regulators will soon make it mandatory for public companies to release a Sustainability Report built upon ESG (environmental, social & governance) information.
The CIESG will contribute to the debate and the development of relevant topics concerning ESG information for companies having three thematic commissions dedicated to ESG pillars:
CLIMATE INFORMATION COMMITTEE
Coordination: Patrick de Oliveira (preparer) and Prof. José Puppim (researcher).
