VII Public Sector Accounting & Data Analytics Colloquium & 54 World Continuous Auditing & Reporting Symposia (WCARS)

Sobre o evento
The Applied Research Center in Accounting and Analytics (ARC-A&A) from FGV joined with the coordination of the Professional Masters in Public Administration and the coordination of the MSc & PhD in Administration both from FGV EBAPE, in partnership with the Rutgers Accounting Research Center and the Laboratory of Continuous Auditing and Reporting (Carlab) from Rutgers University, will hold the VII Public Sector Accounting & Data Analytics Colloquium on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd.
This is the seventh colloquium co-organized by FGV and Rutgers University. Previous editions of the Public Sector Accounting & Data Analytics Colloquium were in December 2021, December 2020, June 2019, June 2018, May 2017 and May 2016, held at FGV EBAPE.
The purpose of the colloquium is to analyze the growing demand for transparency and accountability in the management of public resources, which gives government auditors the responsibility to provide assurances about the performance of programs and the financial position of government entities that must have their resources properly allocated.
In the 2022 edition, the event will be held in a face-to-face model at EBAPE facilities. Here is a historical record: the first four editions were exclusively face-to-face. Editions V and VI, held during the COVID-19 pandemic, were held remotely. Finally, in 2022 we will be able to return to the face-to-face model, which will allow us to have personal interactions as in the past.
The three-day event will total a net workload of 16 hours. Then, as presented in the detailed program that follows, the first day (from 9:00 am) will be dedicated to the interface between “accounting and data analysis” and the elaboration of ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance) information, with a series of lectures on this great topic. On the 2nd and 3rd days we will have eight one-hour or 45 min lectures on the use of data analytics for big data analysis in the context of public accounting, government control and public finance, or that propose the use of data analytics for the public good; and two two-hour open classes on Text Analytics. Additionally, the organizers will introduce Virtual International Collaboration Education (VICE) and the ESG Information Committee (CIESG) to the academic community.
This event is financed by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Brasil (CAPES)
